The programme · six to twelve months
What is in it
Nine things. It starts with food, because nobody takes in nine at once.
I am not going to hand you the whole programme on a web page. This is what it contains, and the order it arrives in is decided by what you can actually carry at the time.
The nine
- Nutrition — real food instead of what comes in a packet, what to stop, and the discipline to hold it. Alcohol is in here, and it is the one nobody volunteers
- Posture — where the aches are actually coming from, and how to stop making them
- Flexibility — stretching, so that training makes you stronger instead of injuring you
- Self-massage and the tools for pain — twenty-five years of hands on bodies, and none of it is in an app
- Training — weights first, in the gym and out of it
- Breathing — for energy, and for getting stress out of the body rather than sitting on it
- Meditation — a quieter mind, because stress will quietly undo everything else on this list
- Sleep — how much, and how to actually get it
- Sexual energy — what to do with it, and what happens when it has nowhere to go
More on any of these — open the one you want.
There is too much here to hand a man in one afternoon. He nods at all of it and does none of it. So the first consultation is food, with some posture and stretching alongside it, and nothing else.
Food alone does more than people expect. Take somebody off processed food and put real food in front of him, and the change is large and it arrives quickly — that one thing, on its own. I have seen it enough times to be confident about it.
It is also the part hardest to believe, because we have all been told for thirty years that what is in the packet is fine.
I ask you to do it as agreed for three weeks. Not forever. Three weeks.
That is roughly what it takes to break one habit and put another in its place, and it is long enough for the first results to show — which is what makes the rest of it possible to keep doing. Experiment as much as you like afterwards. Nothing tells you whether something works until you have actually done it.
A man who does not start straight away has already clipped his own wings. And if changing that much at once is not realistic for your life, say so at the beginning: I will spread it over a longer period and build it around the time and the money you actually have. What I cannot build it around is a decision you have not made.
Weights, because nothing stimulates muscle the way they do. That is as true at sixty as it is at thirty.
We go to the gym once together so I can take you through the programme and you can see how each thing is done. After that you have the whole list written down and you run it yourself. If you want more sessions with me in the gym, those are arranged separately.
And a good deal of it is not in a gym at all — the stretching, the posture work, the things you do at home. That half is what stops the other half hurting you, and it is the half most men skip.
You can do everything right and get almost nowhere.
I have had men follow the food, follow the training, and barely move, because their life was grinding them down the whole time and the body was busy dealing with that instead. That is why breathing and meditation are in this programme and not treated as decoration. They are not there to make it feel spiritual. They are there because a body under permanent pressure does not let go of anything.
If that is your situation, we deal with it early, and I will tell you so rather than let you spend six months wondering why it is not working.
It is here because it is part of how a body runs, not because it makes the programme sound more interesting.
Some men arrive with it going nowhere — no appetite for it, difficulty, or the sense that something quietly switched off. Others arrive with the opposite: hours a week disappearing into porn or into looking for sex, and nothing left over for anything else. Both are worth talking about, and both are usually connected to everything else on the list above.
I am not promising you anything here and I do not treat conditions. What I can do is show you what I do with mine. If the tantric side of it is what you actually need, that is a different conversation and I will say so — it is on the coaching page.
I will not put anything into your body to make it go faster. No performance enhancers, nothing of that kind. They take more out of a body than they put in, and whole health is the entire point of this.
The methods are often unconventional. They were tested on me first and on clients since, and they lean on what I know from bodywork. I suggest and I recommend. Every decision stays yours.
And I will not do it for you. I can give you the order, the method, and somebody checking honestly whether it is working. I cannot do the exercises.
